I Wouldn't Be Able To Greet the Day

Tue, 10/18/2016 - 13:31 -- Niayla

I feign sleep,

Though I hear the quiet pitter patter of anxious feet,

It takes everything in me to not utter a peep,

To him, my awakening is a treat.

Without any more patience, he pounces,

I cannot help to smile at the sudden arrival of fur,

Fur so thick, you wouldn't know he were a canine to account,

He is the menace to my sleep, this little saboteur.

Though, without him I wouldn't be here today,

He's saved my life once,

And if weren't for this annoying little bunce,

I wouldn't even wake to greet the day.
