I Write.

I write to tell the story I cannot say

I write to keep my fears away.

I put words down on paper

to see my reality

in a different way.

My hand grips a pen

When my one true friend

Has left me alone

An only child left with a broken home.

Writing is the only way

I can say I miss you mom

Why couldn't you be here today?

I sit in front of a blinking line

To challenge my heart and my mind

To ask myself to be real

and feel,

All the memories I keep sealed inside.

When the only expression I learned

Is how to be LOUD to be heard,

I write to silence my voice

since spilling words

is a messy choice.

I write to be free

Free of the stressed out me

Far from the thoughts that chip away

At my sanity.
