I Write

I write when everything is up in the air,

Full of entropy,

Lacking civility,

It feels right to solidify it on paper.

I write to keep my beat going.

It is music.

The Killers tell me Everything Will Be Alright,

And I believe it while the song lasts.

I write for myself.

This is not selfish,

Because poetry for the self'

Is poetry for others.

I write to manipulate my emotions,

As I would with a happy song on a cloudy day.

I write because I want to.

I write because I can.
