I Write

I'm not that great of a poet

I admit that I know it

My rhymes can be quite cheesey

The silly flow makes even me queasy

Even so I still like to right

Of my limited vocabulary, in spite

So whenever I get hit with a muse

I search for a pencil and paper to use

The thing about poetry is the more we do it the better we become, so never say you'll not that good cause you'll never know how great your writing can become. It's all about time. Keep writing and doing your thing. Don't compare your writing to no one else cause your writing is yours, it's unique. So just stand out and do you and you'll get better. I love it. Never stop writing trust me it'll pay off.

I think it's cute, and I love how simple and to-the-point it is. What could make it better is using a consistent rhythm. The two lines that seem to coordinate the best are the first two, because they each have three emphasized beats: not, great, po(et); I, (ad)mit, know. If you could also put the same number of de-emphasized beats in-between, I'd be truly impressed. Cheesy rhymes are fine and even good if the author makes them catchy with rhythm. I think that you also showed me that the cure for cheesyness is honesty. Good job.
