I write to be different.

Why do I write? Let me tell you why.

I write to express myself, to not be shy.

I am not perfect, I have made many mistakes.

If my life was a movie, I would need hundreds of takes.

I write to be strong, to make myself known.

I cannot be weak, fear is something I don't condone.

I find strength in thought and passion in words.

My writing makes me feel like I can fly with the birds.

I write to be free, to take matters into my own hands.

I know I have support, my family and friends are my fans.

No one can stop me, I will say what I want.

I am here to say that what I want is to want.

I write to want peace, justice, and freedom.

I write to be one with all in God's kingdom.

I write to be the light in darkness, to save someone's life.

I want to destroy the knife of someone's killer strife.

I write to be a doctor, to help those in need.

I write to show others life isn't all about greed.

I write to stand out, to be that sore thumb.

Be a sore thumb? That sounded dumb.

Who would want to be a thumb? Thumbs are just fingers.

But it is the thumb that makes humanity's strength and power linger.

I write to bring peace, to preach that color is just temporary.

A person's skin is just on the outside, something that is secondary.

I write to tell you, do not judge others by their race, language, or skin.

If we all continue to judge, no one will ever win.

I write to be that difference, that person that goes against the crowd.

When all are quiet, I will make my voice loud.

I write to ask a pardon, a college student's simple plea.

I ask you to help remove my college's hold on me.

Tuition is high and my funds are low,

My parents need help with the situation on dough.

I write to make my dream come true,

to be a doctor and help save lives.

I write and I pray that my words pull through,

and my effort to be different, to be me, survives.
