I Write to be heard

In a world where no one has time To interact with another human being In a time where trying to be seen is as futile As looking for rain in a parched desert I write to be heard To voice what I believe in without being judged To feel like I matter, to feel Alive To write means to express my inner most feelings My thoughts Believes Hopes Dreams In a time where opinions are censored Thoughts controlled by the media and popular belief Where the value of things is assessed based on their monetary worth I write to be different To swim against the current of the river In a time where words are fleeting, I write because the written word changes lives Because I am not alone There are many others who write to feel As I do I write to inspire and be inspired
