I Write Because

I write because I have never been forced to Because I can write as privately or as publicly as I want to Through pictures or words or musings I write because there is no right answer Because my heart is more powerful than my brain Through good times and dark ones I find inspiration I write because words stand the test of time Because stories are timeless Through the worst heartbreak, reflection is the silver lining I write because I love seeing my ideas on paper Because I could spend a whole day daydreaming of untold tales Through words I can transport you as far as my past or as close as my today I write because the most powerful ideas are the ones unspoken Because it challenges me to express myself Through writing I learn about who I am and who I want to be I write because it creates a history Because I want to leave my mark when I’m gone Through even these phrases I will leave myself behind I write because I’m grateful for all those who did before I did Because they have shaped my ideas and beliefs Through words I have experienced far greater than one life
