I write because...
The room is filled with tension
My face is hot
My throat is dry and palms are sweaty
Saying I was angry would have been an understatement
Now I’m cold
I can’t shake this gaping hole that’s consuming me
I was confused and lost
I ran into walls and just sat there and wondered why
Tears cover my face
I drown in my own wallowing
I fall to the depths
I sit at the bottom and look up
In the dark I see the light
Now I’m smiling and laughing
I have so much joy it’s overflowing
I can’t contain my excitement
Standing on the field with a grin
Dirt covered my body
Scratches, bruises, and cuts cover me
Collisions and cleats run into my legs
Shoving the ball up and over soaring like a eagle
Running the bases like I’m flying
Touching home plate and celebrating with my sisters
There’s nothing better than a moment of clarity
During all the stress and confusion
Every fight, every mountain climbed, and every obstacle obviated
I stand tall through it all
No matter how I feel
Or how I think it should be
I know that without a doubt the fact that you are here with me
When I am weak
You are strong
You are the light at the top of the hole
You carry me when I can’t keep going
You never leave, no matter what I say or do
Your love for me never fails
If there was a reason it would be for you
For only you should it be for
I write because of love
Love is a small word with a thousand meanings
True love though, comes from you
It is because of you that I can and will always write
Through every fear, I will not be afraid
Never will I doubt the abilities you’ve given me
So I write for many emotions but Love is the only one that matters
At the end of the day Love never fails me
This is why I write
