I Write Because

I write because I would be lost without it

I write because I don’t want to lose myself

I write to keep from going insane

I write to get through life

I write because I’m numb

And I write to ease the pain

I write because I wouldn’t survive if I didn’t

I write because I don’t want to explode any more

I write because I’m scared

I write because I don’t know what’s around the corner

I write because I can’t give up

I write because I have to set an example

I write for my siblings

I write for my family

I write for the past

I write for the present

And I write for the future

I write because it revives me
