I Write Because I've Struggled
Nights like these I despise
I'm deprived of this happiness that lies beneath the real eyes we call reality.
Staring in the face of defeat.
Knowing that there's a chance I can be beat but I stand upon my feet and prepare for war.
A war against myself.
See I don't wana fight myself ,
but myself is what's got me in this rut
So quick to swallow my words and bite my tongue
Bottled up emotions in side my gut
Spewing out from the wells I've run,
over with grief I've been flooded with pain,
and you can see it cause I bleed it though every single vein
Every scar may not have shown,
but there's one thing you need to know,
the unseen scars are what kills the heart.
Every beat the was regular is warped,
tormented and seems to be irregular. It's deranged and its strange but,
this is the shaping of the woman that stands before you,
She's been beaten and bruised. Misused and abused.
Bashed and abandoned.
But she looks to one man and she says while she barely standing God why me?
He whispers in her ear and says,
my child my child you are stronger than you seem.
Bigger than you've dreamed.
You've made it this far.
Hold on baby help is on the way.
She looks down and realizes that now she's standing on her own feet.
Though she's been knocked down and stomped to the ground she still rises,
And the defeat that once filled her bones with fear didn't look so scary any more.
It got fuzzy and hairy in fact she couldn't see it anymore.
The defeat was dismissed.
Today She is a warrior and true solider.
Fighting battles everyday she manages to smile.
But once there were
Nights like these she's despised,
she was once deprived of the happiness she felt long ago.
