I write in the dark of the night

I write in the dark of the night.

Where my thoughts are most vulnerable,

where my mind is most alive.

Where my dreams become reality;

I fight to survive.

I write in the dark of the night.

I'm back inside my old room.

Forces attack me and haunt me,

with their caution of doom.

I run though my legs don't move.

The end is macabre, yet the beginning is smooth.

I write in the dark of the night.

My fears are before my eyes.

They sneer and jeer

from this hole whence I die.

I write in the dawn of the day.

It's demeanor is comforting,

it's presence is the sun's ray.

Darkness is vanquished;

overthrown by light.

Thwarts the terrors and the evil of night.
