I Write To Know The Difference

I write because

All the trouble 

That lies

Restlessly in my head

In my heart

Can now be written into existence

And be ripped apart

Decoded and folded

Dismantled and frayed

I prefer looking at my problems from a distance this way

I write so I can figure out 

These problems

Them and I

Because with my words 

Now my problems I can define

I write because I

Can define these issues between who I am and what they are

And proudly say we are not one in the same

We just tend to co-habit the same plane

I write because

It’s easy to organize these bits and pieces

When they are given names

I write because

It keeps everything in the proper place
