I Write My Destiny

You see destiny as a hopeful promise,

But truly it’s a trap to fear.

Follow your heart and take chances;

Fate cannot get you here.

My beliefs are controversial, but listen and you will see,

This fate that controls us is an illusion.

We are not bound by destiny;

You have a choice in your actions.

The sun will come, so please don’t run,

Just learn to dance in the rain

You’ll fail, mess up, get hurt, so what?

You can handle the pain

You cannot choose the paths you’re given,

But it’s up to you which way you turn.

You cannot change the world you live in,

So take from it what you can and learn.

This is my world, my life, my story.

Fate is not my weakness, not my enemy.

I will not be contained by fear or worry;

I’m the author of my destiny.
