I Write for You
I write this poem is for you,
Because you have an honest soul,
Because you've cried yourself to sleep at night at least once before.
I write this poem is for you,
Because you do what you want,
Because sleeping with a number does not make you a whore.
I write this poem is for you,
Because you're not original,
Because you, like everyone, has been hurt by someone who you thought you could trust.
I write this poem is for you,
Because you feel it all,
Because you feel pride, envy, gluttony, anger, greed, sloth, and lust.
I write this poem is for you,
Because you love to laugh,
Because you like to share your laugh, at least you always try.
I write this poem is for you,
Because you will take this you're own way,
Because you deserve to know I'm proud that you are still alive.
I write this poem for me,
Because I will always deserve better,
Because I live to tell my own tale and see it with my eyes.
