Icarus

I heard a tale about a boy, a boy who flew so high, but then his wings hit the sun he crashed and burned from the sky. And everybody cried, h shouldn’t have left the ground if he didn’t attempt to fly he might’ve still been around. But it’s no chance of winning if you’re too scared to try, and it’s no point in living if you’re to scared to die. Limits are lies dressed in disguise, looked at the sky, he tried to climb, trapped in is mind, courage to find, to realize that he can fly.

See, the problem was the boy came from a town where everybody was dead inside. They walked around with no spirits like shadows, locked in this small town like slaves like cattle. But he preferred wings instead of shackles.

So he took off and he flew for the heavens, and the town watched in amazement while he soared high they were slaves to he pavement, dumbfounded scratching their heads like cavemen. After a while, they all yelled at him come back come back, but his soul was on fire, and his heart said higher.

He’s losing air fast, the boy can barely breathe, loosing all his vision yeah the boy can barely see, the sun is getting closer few more seconds til it’s over, but he still said higher.

He can feel heat now, burning up his brain, the people still watching and they calling him insane.

He’s having doubts now. maybe he should go back down. Maybe his destiny didn’t extend beyond this small town. Maybe this was it, maybe he was finished, and just like that his spirit started to diminish. So he closed his eyes and he prayed to god he said, “I hope that you watching, I hope that you listening, I hope I ain’t ran out of prayers, I hope if I die today end up at heavens door knock and find somebody there, send me a message, send me a sign, let me know somebody cares, answer my blessings, cancel my stressing, I hope I’m not praying to
Air. I wanna fly I’m prolly gone die my confidence getting away from me lord, I’m feeling alone I’m aching in pain I hope that you stay with me lord, They say that you real but I never seen you you better not play with me lord, if you gone come you better come now it’s been a hard day for me lord.

Then he opened his eyes and he made up his mind.  His dark side tryna take over the real him, but no! he gone live his life even if it kills him.  So he flew into the center, and fire was all around, he’d rather die a legend in the sky than a slave on the ground.

The town was stunned, they couldn’t believe their eyes. They felt something, all through their body in every limb, the boy might’ve died but a new life was born in them.

So, they got wings too, and on a day that it was windy, they all flew away one by one, until the town was completely empty.
