the ice

her eyes are cold, lifeless, yet breathtaking they are soft hail, beautiful and rare diamonds, they are majestic seas yet always distant they remain far off leaving me to wonder where they go always frozen, always still yet somehow radiant they have a power to catch me, lead hostage to a place where i forget i forget and i gaze she is still, so cold but one day i witnessed her ice melt the crystals were warm, her face flustered she tried to hide it, but i was lucky i was the one who saw she stumbled near and i saw it then for a moment she was the one caught i prized her secret wondered where she had gone where was the ice that so captivated me i assume she had traveled too far the summer glacier always melts patience will see it through the ice will always come to melt
