On the Ice

There would be no place,
But on the ice,
That would please me just by the sight.
As I slip on my skates
And tie them tight,
I step on the smooth ice.
Feeling the padding in my leather boots,
Makes me feel secure, like a poem does to you.
As I hear the smooth metal gliding
Against the smooth ice,
I feel like I belong someplace.
And when I am done,
I take off my smelly boots.
As that strong smell fills the room,
I knew this is what I want in my life.
This happy and smooth life,
my life.
