The Ice Pick

The ice pick pierces the heart,

sending a shudder through the spine

of your soul. It begins to melt slowly

down, until your whole body

becomes frozen in time.

then you realize that it wasn’t the ice pick

that was melting, rather it was your heart,

which turns into an icy river, flowing

through your veins, causing

your body to tremble, drowning

your hope in a raging current

of rampant emotion.
