Icee Machine
I forget a lot of things
But I'll never forget that day
I cracked my cup in anger
And blue Icee dripped down my hand
I hung up the phone far too aggressively
You grabbed a napkin or five
Handed them to me shyly, silently
Oh so sweetly
I laughed at the mess I had made
Embarrassed
Pocketed my phone
Grabbed a new cup
You walked me to my car
I was so confused
Why are you being so nice?
I'm covered in blue slush
Honestly, even if I was clean
If I had all the makeup on
I would still feel ugly
That's what They make me feel like
You knew Them too
They aren't the ones to disagree with
Like ground wasps
Tread lightly!
We exchanged numbers
I was in a sort of daze
And now you're always there
With me
You get your red Icee
I get my blue one
From then on
We were friends
Maybe more, but it's not my place to tell Them about you and me
Even today I drank a blue Icee
And thought of you
I smiled
And I felt pretty
Screw Them
I like you
Because you make me like myself
More than They make me hate myself
Thank you
And thank the Icee machine
