Iconic

Let's sip chai teas In dark coffee shops Wear big sun hats Thicken our faux lens frames Hike our skirts to our waists Cut our hair to seem new But berets made in China Overdress our hands with rings Stare clueless for selfies Download vintage quotes Wear our water bugs indoors Quote Breakfast Club songs But we're not done yet With our blessed regeneration Let's throw in some labels Switch out pacsun for thrift shops We're not what we want Photocopies of (not) our past More crop tops and stolen verses Too 'mainstream' for your gage covered ears Let's throw in an illness! Or some feelings, all the same Pretend we've got scars When we're really just good bleeders A pinch of "trauma" From our fake faulty pasts Drowning out sincerity With well rehearsed tears Some henna designs Boots paired with short dresses Big, bad flower crowns And alas, we are now "hipsters"
