The Icy River

The river has been guarded

by ice for years, waiting

to be thawed. One

day a drop of sun falls

in the middle of the river.

A crack forms,

then another and another,

until all the ice has melted

away, and the river

which had forgotten

how to flow, begins

to whisper once again.
