Icy toes

I cannot believe that you can be so oblivious

to my affections for you

and I cannot believe that when you kissed me like that

you weren’t aware of your actions.

I will not pretend that I am in love with you,

but I will not pretend that you are anything less

than what I have wanted for years.

You told me to forget about him,

that you weren’t going to go back to his embrace

but I haven’t spoken to you in days now,

and I wonder how much warmer his arms are

compared to my cold sheets.
