Ideas Are Wings
Ideas are wings
Stirring the quiet with a fluttering touch
Limitless as the places
In which feathers can take us
Overcoming, not of gravity's grip,
But of skeptics
Eternal as the great metal wings
Which took man to a new height
A new perspective on the world it brings-
An aerial view of unknown insight
Starting small and pure
Though with time growing frightfully strong
Carrying a powerful, unseen thing-
Control of one's own future-
Much as wings carry
God's angels
Or wicked demons
Like the gentle flap of a single wing,
Rather useless alone
But when matched with
One or more others of its sort,
Capable of flight
Or creation and destruction
Take comfort
In the way they wrap around you
And don't clip the wings
For fear that they will fly away
