Identity

Dancing in circles living in shades of gray, shades of gray got so tired I went to the bathroom and stopped to pray I felt so weak and tired as time just passed away as I wasted my life away with every boring day more life just faded away as my identity slowly died away Who am I? I've become so self-contained I've been searching my mind all day and trying to find who I really am inside I had so many false identities who I really am is a mystery Yeah I lied but I tried evaluating each one to figure out which one was the real me almost like who I was was deleted from my memory eliminating me one by one til I figured out which was the right one so many false identities just trying to find the real me when my mind was a whirlwind of lies it was kind hard to find the real me inside Who am I? Where have I been? It felt like I just didnt fit in at school I never felt cool when at school the dean asked me where's your ID I replied I don't know maybe its in my locker I tried to open it but i didn't have the key or the correct combination to unlock my personality I cried God please find me because I can't find my ID and you're the only one who has the key to unlock me and set me free God show me my real identity Not some fake ID that someone else gave to me I'm tired of thinking everyone's staring at me watching and finding someway to criticize and make fun of me but that's just me being paranoid and insecure Because I don't want to get hurt the way I did before God I wish I could see what you see in me tired of carrying around fake ID's based off of lies the enemy told me Who am I? I tried to fight to believe in what's right I tried to hide when he attacked me with new lies but I didn't know the truth so vulnerable I fell victim to his lies I cried when the enemy lied because I believed him when he said I wasn't good enough angry and afraid I tried to be tough I ripped my own heart out and beat it til it was numb so I couldn't feel the pain when the enemy came to steal my identity away Who am I? God I wish I could see what you see in me tired of chasing dreams when I know you have better in store for me im tired of carrying around fake ID's based off of lies the enemy told me when I looked in the mirror my reflection was all a blur to me but one day God showed me that I am not a flaw I am not an error' time to take off the wig that doesn't match the color of my skin and these oversized false eyelashes fluttering in the wind it was an ugly false identity alternative to who God created me to be Who am I? Loud or quiet? Am I really all over the place? or just crazy? Confident not confused is who I'm meant to be It doesn't matter what the world thinks what matters is how you see yourself test the waters and be yourself learn to love others and respect yourself Who am I? I am a child of the most high God who delivered me and set me free God not only gave me an identity but a destiny So I can be all that he made me to be the unique individual God made me Who are you?
