My identity has gone missing

It is nowhere to be found

I yelled for it but it did not listen

It made no sound

I searched In the woods

I walked to the park

I went to the mall

But became tired of it all

At night I would cry

Because of the pain

I felt so alone

I became so ashamed

Then one day I stopped

I remembered where I left it

I began to run until I saw I was facing the mirror when suddenly

My reflection began to talk to me

It told me I was foolish

It told me I was wrong

It told me my identity was here all along

So today I stand strong

Not searching in the woods or walking in the park or going to the mall

I stand strong knowing my identity is in my heart
