Identity Crisis
10/11/17
Identity Crisis.
I'm having an identity Crisis. I've forgotten my name. Is it black queen hey cute thang or child of the king. I've forgotten my parents are they not the social norms and religious expectations that follow my name.
Ive forgotten my home is it not the cold and wooden house I stay in called my heart and brain. I've forgotten my face I seem to have lost the strong independent child like nature I carry with me day to day. I've lost my identity and I know where it went. I lost it trying to please you trying to fit into what you deem as cool. I lost it trying to make you laugh make you happy and make you smile. I lost it trying to fit in where I know I don't belong and trying to become what I'm not ready to be. I lost it falling into your care concern and love for me. I lost it trying to be friend girlfriend bandmate and child. I'm breaking free and running wild. I'll take what I deem necessary i'll do what works for me. Like I stallion I am untameable wild and free and I on a mission to decide what's really me. I'm having a identity crisis I've forgotten who I'm called to be. I was born black does that define me I was born a female does that make me weak I was born again as a Christian does that make an alien and unable to be me. I'm smart but what does that Really mean. I'm curvy does that make me prized or despised. I'm different does that me you fear me. I'm clothed in a plethora of titles, roles and names. Some of these clothes were given to me some I chose for myself and the rest just showed up one day. You see me and think I'm beautiful but I see an unfamiliar face. Excuse for a while I need to go to my room and change. Change into what nothing in here is me. I think I'm gonna go shopping there are a few things I need and no YOU can't come with me.
