Identity minus Self

Knowing who you are and why, Or just taking these steps, we call life, on the fly Identity. Yes, it should be in close proximity To the One who delivered me Striving daily and earnestly seeking The One who stirs passionate believing. But Identity, is attaining it really that easy? Like black is from white? Like love is from spite? For me it’s been a journey, The grey in the middle, The dash between beginning and end, The struggles and triumphs, a true blend. Confusion beyond the comprehension of many, growing up in church with legalistic sinning. Who am I? Who am I supposed to be? With misconstrued portrayals, no wander there is so much questioning. Yes, literally, the journey to true identity Is as complicated as two brain surgeries. Moving away from home comforting Led to the peak of maximized baffling. Why this? Why now? Why me? The common questions that lead to vain reasoning. But falling on others and the Word out of true desperation Led to a historical, thriving, benevolent proposition. Identity, It's not about we me or us, So you might as well take what the world tells you and consider it dust. Yes, all the components of experience and word pointed to one thing. That true identity requires self sacrificing. A challenge to say goodbye, to take up the cross, and die daily, Tearing down the transgressing strongholds so Christ can inhabit me. That's identity. Not me or who I should be, But He who lives in me. Not who I am, but where He will take me. Not because I am, but because He is. True identity is this. Losing your way to His. Making way for His righteousness. Having eternal love, leading to eternal bliss. Identifying your will, but submitting to His. Indeed, true identity says put your ego on the shelf, Submit to Christ, and humbly sacrifice yourself.
