Idiot me

Luke 6:39 New King James Version (NKJV)

39 And He spoke a parable to them: “Can the blind lead the blind? Will they not both fall into the ditch?

Idiot me

Here we came to America … my wife, me and ourselves

My eyes upon the opportunity with a desire to succeed

My wife’s eye on me as I ignored this part of self

Too blind to care or share relying only on self indeed

In my blindness I had no clue that she was sick of life

The first years of our being here she wanted to end it all

But then a miracle happened as a seed planted in my life

Developed although I could not conceive the moment of it all

A baby boy named Erwin came into this world

And gave my wife a purpose to keep hanging on

I stayed blind it seems as hope in my wife unfurled

I wonder did I change or I stayed the same old bum
