IF

If you can’t read a simple poem without shedding a tear

Rolling down you cheek meeting your lips,

If you can’t concentrate out of fear

Or your mind is dark like a total eclipse

If you can’t fake a smirk or a smile

Or long dreadful lumbers awate

If you feel as if you are a sink every once in awhile

For all the bad dreams of fate:

If only a few people can make your world glow

And only pizza, pasta, or sushi will do,

If picking up a pen or pencil just to show,

How everything looks to you

If you day dream of exotic faces

Such as the Grand Canyon or space,

It may take you to far places

But in doubt you give up and slow down your pace

If you feel as if you’re never going to be good enough

And what is it to anyone anyways

If you feel as if your life has became a bluff

And you swear to mom that it is just a phase

Or if you pray and pray for the devil to go away

But he returns with another miserable gift

Your mind has been clouded with a dark misty haze

And everyday feels like an endless night shift

If you dread meeting new people in a situation

Anxiety pull you in and drags you down

If you be quiet in the shadows in fear of humiliation

Like for some reason everyone else deserves the crown

With a black cloud hovering over raining blue

And you forget about the rainbow afterwards

If any of this applies to you

I’m sorry-Depression hurts.
