If All The World's A Stage

If all the world is a stage,

Then who are the stars?

And who are the extras?

We are all the big roles,

The main characters of our story.

There are times when we have to step back,

And be someone else's supporting cast

Then there are times where we must not be seen at all,

And must work the stage from a hidden perch.

But, I ask, if all the work is a stage,

Then are we actors, or characters?

Writers, or directors?

Do we choose to place a mask upon our soul,

And parade around in someone else's skin?

Do we take the essence of what we are,

And let it burn in all we do?

Do we write our own script,

And pencil in the days?

Do we watch all that occurs around us,

And try to fit it into our world.

In truth, if all the world is a stage,

Then we are the creators.

We wrte our lives,

Direct our actions,

Explore our roles,

Live our dreams.

There will be times when we feel as if,

We are no more than marionettes on a string.

But remember, at the end of the day,

When we stop and take a bow,

That we decide

To be the Star or the Support,

The Actor or the Character,

The Writer or the Worker,

The Marionette or the Person.
