IF EVER

If ever one day,

I would disappear and go astray ,

Tossed to and fro by life's infinite waves,

and not knowing what tomorrow would bring;

If ever I had to choose,

Among my survival kit or what I ought to lose,

I would never make it a day without you,

Nor the unbearable feeling of never seeing you

No, if ever that day really came,

Please take this world and all its fame,

But give me those tender hands that used to pick me up,

Those eyes that will not stop sparkling whenever I show up

Yes, you can take everything away from me,

Starting with big cities, riches and glory,

But I beg you not to rip off those warm familiar voices,

Nor those silly jokes that would crack me up

For truly there will be no "ME" if not for you,

and success for me would only mean honoring you

So, the answer to this complex question would be,

That I could never make it WITHOUT YOU MOMMY AND DADDY!
