If I am going to leave

If I am going to say goodbye

I would like to recognize the

Various faults I have

Committed in my time

I will not cry

I will not blame

For all who live like I

Will be found someday

I am willing to answer

For my many crimes

I willfully surrender

Because now is the time

I have finished my tasks

My works are all done

I think I have enjoyed

My final days in the sun

I am all right with this ending

I do not have fear

For I always felt

As this day drew ever near

No heaven, perhaps,

Is where I’ll be headed

Yet surprisingly enough

I do not dread it

My end is come, I feel,

That sureness in my bones

Resounds with perfect clarity

I know I’ll die alone

But in the end that’s okay

I’ve lived my life in full

And since this day might be last

I’ll answer for my wrongs
