If I Built You a Melody
A spine stacked up of rattlesnake tails
And a mouth full of rusty nails
Dull from
Lack of
Use
Eyes filled with scarlet tears
Collected from the broken years
Of a
Sordid
Youth
A body built from rubber bones
Melted down from solid stone
Into
Decaying
Proof
Lips construed of rose stained lies
Locking back echoing cries
Throw away
Her
Truth
Fingers made of whipping sticks
Sewing out her worn down tricks
By
Stabbing
Little wounds
Hair ripped of red brick roads
Bleeding dreams of yellow
She falls
Short
Of her moon
Ears burned from deafening booms
Of hurts that hurt too soon
Twisting
Her whole self
Out
Out of tune
