If I Could

If I could change the world, I would start by changing myself.

I would become more understanding, and speak with prudence; if only I could change the world.

If I could change the world, I would shower others with words of praise.

I'd offer my shoulder; be tough as a boulder; if only I could chcnage the world.

But, in writing these words, I realize one thing.

That we live in a world of tangles vines.

Where things are unprecedented, and people tell lies; it would do no good for me to try.

What would be the point of changing a world that is cemented in its ways?

Where people go by, hating their life, until the day that they fall to their graves.

But I really wish the world would change.

And accept all the exiles; free them of their chains.

And bring peace to the world throughout every age.

Ad if you don't yet know how I will do this,

Then, please, go back and read, from the top of the page.
