If I Could Have a Library

I would like to thank the words,

Words upon the page I read,

Read on a screen,

Screen of a computer,

Computer so bright and free.

Everything around us is influenced.

By social media.

By politics.

By emotions.

I’m influenced all the same,

By music.

By books.

By people.

By feelings.

And every day,

I wake up,

To read and read and read

Words upon a page,

Upon a screen,

Upon a wall.

It heightens my mind,

It changes my perspective,

It makes me happy

And my heart soars.

So to all the authors of the world I thank.

Novel or poetry or fanfiction.

You’re all the same in my eyes

And you inspire me to write every day

And you’re the reason I continue to go on.
