If I Had One Wish

Sand in my toes, sun on my skin, and the wind sweeping through my hair.

What else could a girl want?

Money, a career, a family.

Is that really what this girl wants?

To be alone with one's thoughts is earth shattering,

Your whole world is presented before you in your own twisted mind.

Will I be successful, will I make others proud, is everything I'm working towards worth it?

If I had one wish.

I just want to make my loved ones proud.

Everyone wants to be accepted, everyone wants to be loved.

But at the end of the day, we need to make ourselves proud.

If I had one wish.

Our Father who art in heaven, Hail Mary full of grace, Glory be to the Father.

I have always been accepted in this family.

They will always be proud of me.

But if I had one wish, it would be for them to help my blood family accept and be proud of me as well.

A rosary, that is what I would bring,

To pry for those around me as well as myself,

To bring peace and understanding to my own thoughts.

If I had one wish,

It would be to be accepted by those around me.
