If I held the world

Location

If I held the world in my hands,

I would stretch it as far as I could

Expand the land further

Make the oceans wider

Pull the tallest tree higher

Space constraints even the smallest of beings

Limits the expanse of our knowledge

Prevents forests from growing, and fields from producing

If I held the world in my hands

I would give a blanket to every mother

A seed to all fathers

And a beating heart to each child

The world be warmer

A little bit richer

And a whole lot louder

If I held the world in my hands

I would paint rainbows across buildings

Marriage equality would ring in everyones ears

Smiles would be shared over wedding day toasts

Churches would invite all neighbors to attend

Diversity would spread like a wild fire

Its flames hitting each country with power

Black and White would become Gray

Segregation would become a word of history

Our history books would be burned and replaced with songs of freedom

Songs of generations

Songs of dying mothers, and fighting brothers

If I held the world in my hands

I would wrap it like a present and send it to the moon

Give it a day to look at things from a different perspective

Remind it how important it is

Tell it, it is time to wake up, breakfast is on the table

Your nature is on the table

Your people are on the table

It is time to wake up and start a brand new day
