If I must live

let it be as free as the wind 

As strong as the earth 

and as long as the longest river 

If I must live 

Let me be as patient as a redwood tree

As stubborn as the waves upon the land

As resilient as a montian within a storm 

If I must live 

Let me see the world through Your eyes 

As gracious and beautiful as it may be

Let me forgive but never forget 

And always fall in love again 

Let me fall in the love with the towering trees

And the sunset over the mountains and open plains 

Let me fall in love with the people

As different as we may be 

Let me shatter and pick up the pieces 

But always trust again 

If I must live 

Let me see the world in all it's beauty and gore

And still believe in the world it could be
