If I Were To Go

if i were to go

i may never see your face again

if i were to go

i may never forget

to breathe after staring into

your

yellow green gaze

if i were to go

i could try out so very

many different lifestyles

and personas just to see

if they fit

only to shrug them off

when they get too tight

or remind me of you

if i were to go

i could flee to the other side of the world

and fall in and out of love

as i please

but if i were to go

i would never see you again

i would miss the smile on your face

but if i were to stay

you would eventually

leave and go away

i would become

some hollow shell

a ghost of my past self

so i think it's safest

if i were to go
