As if I were Human
All that I am and
everything I thought I was.
A collection of works become
me as a being, as a solid form
I am alive and true as the oceans
themselves, with just as many deep
thoughts and sounds that spout from.
I am the slick rain sliding
the car wheels rubbing the
wet asphalt crunching.
I'm the crinkly leaves in the fall and
the burnt umber of the seasons
changing. I am the space between
the lines you're reading. The clouds
of rain sweeping the slick, wet street.
I am working hard and hardly working.
I am a boy, I am a man; an American.
I am opportunity, and Success.
I am the grain of salt you take with you.
I'm the cheek you turn and the
strike that comes with it.
I am a part of a community.
I'm the good in the bad.
I am a Human
