if i were to kiss you
if i were to kiss you
id kiss you with the weight of a thousand feathers
if i were to kiss you
id kiss you in the hidden corners
of this all seeing prison
if i were to kiss you
id kiss you with my eyes closed
and my mind full of hope
yet i know i’ll never kiss you
not here
not now
not yet
i can’t kiss you
because our love is taboo
and we’re trapped
trapped together yet far apart
but, if i were to kiss you
id kiss you with the hope of acceptance
if i were to kiss you
i would kiss you to the sound of dreams
if i were to kiss you
id hope you’d kiss back
id hope you’d leave your fear behind
and if i were to kiss you
i would kiss you with a silent promise
a promise to help you
a promise to save you
but alas
it’s only a dream
a dream i always wake from
because i cannot kiss you
but maybe if i were to kiss you
then i would not wake up
and we would be free
no longer trapped
in this all seeing prison
oh, if i were to kiss you
