If I were you

"IF I WERE YOU" The hurt you made me go through, Leaves me wishing I were you If only I could I'll make the tables turn And put you in my shoes. . I wish I could somehow, someway trade places with you, Be you, you me Even for just a day or two. . I'll requite every smile, Seeing through your eyes I'ld discern what you have in mind, And love, wouldn't look like a crime. . When you say you see the future in me, I'ld say I see the moon in you. When you say 'you look cool' I'll say 'you re super cute' . If I were you This is what I'll do; I'll requite every move, And in my heart make you a big room. . I may not feel, exactly the way you do But I'll fight too And won't make this any harder for you. . I had always wanted to say, that I love you Yes, I really do But thanks to you, We're on opposite covers Of Love's sacred book. . If I were you, The one thing I'll do Is say the words "I love you too" Emmanuel Momoh © April 2019.
