If it Hurts, It's Not Love

I cry, but he still hurts me. This is not ok. "Because I love you" is his excuse. That is not what those words say. I scream for help, but he silences me. "Because I love you" should be followed by good things. Things like "I want you to follow your dreams." And "It's because I love you that I support your happiness." That is what those words should mean. Violence is NEVER the answer. There is no hitting in love. People that love, show respect. They respect your needs, They admire your good deeds, And they plant "self-worth" seeds Into your mind garden. They won't tell you you're worthless, They never think your dreams are pointless. They will lift you up emotionally. If my partner truly loved me, He would NEVER hurt me. He would would let me get help if I asked for help. He would have told me what bothered him calmly. It is never ok to degrade someone, Nor is it EVER ok for someone to degrade YOU. Love should be about trust, Not accusing the other of cheating, Just because they spend time with their best friend. NO ONE deserves to be made to feel, Like they're worthless, a failure, not good enough! Everyone falls sometimes, But those that live them make them see, That they're good enough, awesome, and are free to be... Whoever they are inside. You Are Amazing. Never forget it.
