If it wasn't "4" You.
If it wasn't 4 you i'd be lost.
Would've been a young African American male without a cause.
Mother i'm completing this scholarship, sorry missed i your call.
But i'm speaking of how you held me tight and in high regard.
You have impacted my life as well as my brothers.
I don't have to remind you that you did it as a single mother.
I'm in school so later we can live in peace with eachother.
Don't worry mom, God says after this storm we're done with this struggle.
Mother, To me you mean more than anything.
If i wasn't your son i'd get on one knee with a diamond ring.
You taught me how to speak, walk, keep decorum, and sing.
Now, i can pass what you have taught me in different ways.
Today, i'm a graduate student and i do it all for you.
You have two other sons hopefully they also can see it through.
I can't wait to spoil you on your birthday 01/27/72.
I just wouldn't be who i am if it wasn't "4" you.
