If Love
If love were more than mere emotion,
it would spand the greatest oceans.
If love could grow wings and fly away,
it would have stopped for me along its way.
If love could turn back the hands of time,
rework this tattered, shattered life of mine.
Hush the sream as I close my eyes,
Make it so I can sleep tonight!
If love they say is always with us,
then why do they seek it with such persistane?
They laugh, they cry, they show it more and more,
but what is this life truly for?
Window shut, front door locked,
all that I have loved is locked in a box.
And as the night is lit by moon,
this love that I have will all too soon,
fade away, to disappear, just to become a face in the mirror!
So as I lie down to sleep tonight,
I pray, I hope, I dream on and on in spite!
That if this love shall die forever more,
not one soft tear will hit this floor.
Not one soft tear will hit this floor...
