If Love Was A Color
I see a multitude of colors,
In a world of black and white.
Black of sorrow and hate.
White of hope and might.
But if love was a color,
Oh the beauty it would be.
People would paint it all around them,
I would paint it in me.
If a single word could define me,
Curiosity it would be.
Open eyes wide with wonder.
So many wonders yet to see.
I feel like a small child,
Questions like endless galaxies.
My ceaseless quest for knowledge,
Answers building all of me.
I’m two halves of my parents,
Filled in with bits of me.
My mom taught me love was beauty.
My dad challenged me to think free.
I can’t paint a better world.
I can’t learn everything.
But I can leave a tiny footprint,
I can be all that I can be.
