If my Love

If a rose had a sent

and that sent had a name

I'd say it was you

the sent which you had claimed

If a tree bore fruit

and that fruit tasted sweet

I'd say it was you

for you are the lovliest of treats

If my love had a home

and the home had a name

I'd say it was you

the love which you had claimed.
