If Only

If only I can.

If only I will.

Take their stresses away and make the pain still.

Make their worries disappear for darkness kills

My heart aches for their tears and their growing white hairs.

Please don't cry. Please don't fear.

If only I can.

If only I will.

Reach success so that I can give them the world

Be the wall to the many hurdles that come their way

I want to be the reason for their smiles each and everyday

If only I can.

If only I will.

What makes me tick is for the joy of my parents

What makes me tick is for their joy when I walk down to my diploma

What makes me tick is the day when I surprise them with their first house,

with their first car, with their first vacation,

with their first time seeing the world without looking just at pictures.

What makes me tick is my parents.

If only I can.

If only I will.
