If only
As a teenager i was never the girl next door, more like the girl from hell. I was never able to relate to my fellow peers. I was always so different & i didn't know why. I found comfort in writing down my thoughts. It was not something I showed off or even spoke of to anyone. As soon as i wrote my feelings down, i felt set free like a prisoner on his release. Paper and pen became my best friends. Poetry is the easiest way to express your inner soul. There is no right or wrong way of doing it. If you don't like the outcome you can simply crumple up the paper, toss it in the can and start over again. If only life was like that. If only we can take our most regretful moment, crumple it up, toss it away, forget it ever happened and start all over. If only we would listen to those who have lived life before us. Things would certainly be different. Unfortunately we are not offered that luxury on this planet, but in the life of a poet it is possible. I love that and that is why I write poems.
