If only I was better


If only I was better than the man with the sword Piercing through flesh and bones as far as my words Reaching for the heart As I reach for the soul Thus a life is torn apart And I maketh a life unwhole If only I was better than him with a sceptre and crown As I own some few dime Marching upon thousands of bowing crowd As I bask in my own sublime He's inebriated on his power Am drunk on brewed grape every hour Costing the growing hungrys breathing about me So does he pay his heed to just he If only I was better Maybe I could say to know better And save the ground I stand on when I curse At reining in of justice and not be hedged in no hearse Share the fate of my foe As the wrath of justice tow
